Why "authentiCITY travel?"
The meaning behind "authentiCITY travel" is three-fold. One, I believe that travel is most meaningful when it is authentic to your needs and wants. What is in a guidebook's "10 Must See Sites" may not be satisfying to you and I want to support whatever experiences you wish to seek out. Second, I will be authentic when working with you. There may be times when I don't know the answer to a question or when I'm not the best advisor for a given trip. I will be honest with you in those circumstances. And third, I love urban adventures, whether that is marveling at a skyline, navigating public transportation, or people-watching.

Can't I plan and book my trip myself?
Truthfully, you sure can. The question is whether you want to! My job is to actively listen to what will bring you joy on your trip. For many, researching hotels and airfare, reading reviews, comparing rates, and tracking confirmations adds stress to their vacations, not joy. So let me take the stress, time, and confusion off your plate.
3
Why should I choose to work with you?
As of this writing, I've traveled to 23 countries and 35 states. So first, I'm an expert traveler and love to pass on what I've learned. Also, because I charge research and planning fees, I am not beholden to working with certain travel providers nor rely on commission. While I do have vendors that I trust to provide superior service, my only devotion is to you and what kind of experience you want.
4
How does this all work?
If you're ready to get started, start by filling out my brief travel questionnaire and contact form. We'll then find a time to chat so I can learn more about what you're hoping for from your trip. I'll send you a quote/proposal afterwards and you can decide if I'm a good fit for you. When you're ready to proceed, I get to work crafting your next dream vacation!
5
Can you book air?
It depends. Many wish to use points or miles to book their airfare and in those circumstances, it is easier for you to book because you won't be giving me access to your profiles and passwords. I can still research flight options and provide you with recommendations or book your air as part of a package.
6
Can you book hotels, cruises, resorts, cars, etc.?
Absolutely!
7
How far in advance should I start planning with you?
It depends on the trip you are taking. Going abroad for two weeks or planning to travel during major holidays? Let's start talking around 4-6 months out. Just want a long weekend? 2-3 months will be plenty of time. But truthfully, it's never too early to reach out!
8
Can you book Airbnb/VRBO?
These companies do not allow for third-party bookings, but I have access to villas/condos/home rentals that I can recommend
9
I've already planned part of my trip. Can I still work with you?
Of course! I'm happy to learn about your plans and provide you with a custom quote.
10
What happens if something happens while I'm traveling and I need help?
Prior to your departure, I will provide you with a "Know Before You Go" document. Included in this are all of the "in-travel" contact information you will need from the time you leave for the airport until you arrive home safely. Because I am not the airline, hotel, resort, cruise, etc., I won't be able to correct issues on the ground. And because things just happen, travel protection is highly recommended and I include options for every client on every trip.
